Thank You for Giving this Giving Tuesday

Posted on November 23, 2022

A donation of food from the Second Congregational Church in Greenfield, MA.

With Thanksgiving just around the corner, we can’t help but look forward to our favorite way to give thanks in the non-profit world. Giving Tuesday, or as we like to call it Giving Chews Day, is coming up next week and this is a day that perfectly demonstrates what we are all about- collective impact!

It is a day where people come together across the globe to show what we can do when we all give, when we all show up. This Giving Tuesday, our staff, board members, and volunteers of the Franklin County Community Meals Program are asking for your support. Help us reach our goal and become a special part of what makes our community work so well.

At FCCMP, we see everyone as neighbors. Here, we ask you to be a good neighbor to your community by supporting our essential feeding programs. Growing up, when we needed a cup of sugar or had run out of eggs, we knocked on our neighbor’s door. Here we are, knocking on your door, asking if you will join us in being a “Neighbor Feeding Neighbors.” Since our inception, our tagline has been a variation of “Neighbors Feeding Neighbors”, “Neighbors Helping Neighbors” or “Neighbors Nourishing Neighbors”.

The theme being that we are all neighbors. This has been such a big part of how we address hunger in Franklin County- through the power of community generosity.

At a time of year where we all get wound up around the marketing and gift buying involved in the holiday season, let’s slow down and consider the reason behind giving. Giving is so much more than buying something from a store. Giving is about sharing with others. It’s about doing something for someone else from the goodness of your heart. Give to your neighbors in need this year. Lets get reinspired about gift giving! Spread the word; tell your friends about this opportunity to be a goodhearted neighbor who gives!

Build connection with your community this #GivingChewsDay by making a gift to Franklin County Community Meals Program at fccmp.org/donate

Finally, thank you all for being such an important part of our community. This Thanksgiving and every day, we are grateful for YOU- our community.
