year in review 2022 header

Year after year, we continue to grow our organization to better meet the needs of our community. Thanks to your support we were able to make great strides this year.

FCCMP Growth and Development in 2022

  • We hired a new meal site coordinator for our Greenfield Meal Site, Lynn Parker- a nutritionist and former WIC coordinator who is committed to providing nutritious meals to the community
  • Our Northfield Community Meal celebrated it’s 1 year anniversary AND became a program of the Food Bank of Western Mass.
  • We evolved our meal site model to focus on elevating what we do- this has involved procuring good quality, fresh food from local farms and providing options for those with dietary restrictions. Our staff, trained to focus on quality and dignity, are cooking on site with the support of volunteers.
  • We made our meal site model more accessible to volunteers- volunteers can sign up for shifts- helping to prep, cook and package meals without having to coordinate the whole meal!
  • We celebrated and strengthened our volunteer network
  • We brought people together from all walks of life, using food as a means to celebrate our shared humanity and provide opportunities for connection.
  • We began to transition back to indoor dining which will allow the important component of fellowship, putting the Community back in Community Meals.
  • We relaunched our annual Hope Against Hunger Auction during September Hunger Action Month
  • We built a youth volunteer model to partner with schools and youth serving agencies to involve youth in important community based work.
  • We established a Community Sponsor Program allowing businesses to partner directly with us to support their community.
  • In 2022, our first Community Sponsors are Greenfield Savings Bank,, Covestro, Snow & Sons and the McGovern Automotive Group

Stay tuned for annual statistics in the new year!

We are so grateful for all of you who weave together this wonderful tapestry that we know as the Community Meals Program. You are the special ingredient that makes our work possible!
Thank you and Happy New Year!

Sincerely,
Rachel Berggren, the staff, board of directors and volunteers of FCCMP
